Artificial Intelligence
The movie (Artificial Intelligence) is unique because it doesn't largely include human characters, but instead deals with androids that have been designed with a particular purpose in mind.
The two main characters are David played by Haley Joel Osment and Gigalo Joe played by Jude Law. David is a boy designed as a false child for a couple.
While Gigalo is, as you might have guessed, a love-bot.
David, highly advanced robotic boy longs to become "real" so that he can regain the love of his human mother. David is a programmed robot to be the loving son of a couple named Henry and Monica Swinton, whose own son named Martin lies comatose and apparently brain dead in the hospital. But when the couple learns to adjust to David and his capacity to love unconditionally, Martin makes a miraculous recovery. That’s the time David is already hindrance to the family's unity and he is cast out of the family. Alone with his robotic teddy bear and unable to adjust to a world that has no use for his ability to love, David journeys out into the forests to find a way to become a real boy.
In the end of the movie, I felt sorry for the boy, when her mother leaved him in a forest-like place but then this movie touched me. It was a great movie, I have to say I was rocked by the visuals and I got really into it. Even those who hate it will have their heart captured in the final scenes and you just have to love Teddy. And I would just love to have one too. :)
Hackers
The movie “Hackers” is all about a group of gifted teenagers who enjoy hacking into computers but never to harm anyone. The movie talks about the increasing number of hackers in the field of information technology.
“Hackers” is very fun and interesting movie especially to us IT students, who also love to know and learn how to hack and this movie, is also for the teenagers of present generation who treats computer and cell phone, a significant part of their everyday life. Computer usage is not bad, hacking is definitely not good, and as this harms not only the breached security be it government owned, but the hackers’ personality as well.
Antitrust
The movie “Antitrust” exposes the truth about what we can really do with our increasingly advancing technology and how it can affect our lives vastly. “Antitrust” also talks about SYNAPSE which represents the transformation on how people communicate.
The movie is a fictional story of computer programming genius Milo Hoffman and it was noticed by top businessman who owns the NERV Company. He was recruited by one of the richest men in the country to work on one of the most difficult inventions in the computer industry. For Milo it’s a dream come true, a chance to become a legend in his own right. The Social Network
This film probably is my favorite one. Why? First it was related to my course second it’s all about the birth of one of the most popular social networking sites in the world, “FACEBOOK”.
The movie is all about the creation and development of FACEBOOK. Mark Zuckerberg played by Jesse Eisenberg was a computer geek who had a bad break up with his girlfriend. This motivated him to do computer staffs as his defense mechanism for him to forget Erica Albright (played by Rooney Mara), his ex-girlfriend. Mark was accused by the School’s Administrators of breaching their systems’ security; violating copyrights; violating individual privacy; and violation of university policy on distributing digitized images by creating a website named “www.facemash.com”. This was published by the Campus’ school newspaper and was known by almost all students. With this incident Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, popular twin athletes in the university, encourages Mark to join their team and be their programmer with their resources and ideas to create a website and they call it “HARVARD CONNECTION”. Mark agreed to it but then he was not showing up whenever the Winklevoss brothers call meeting for them to start building the website. Instead, Mark is creating a website in his own with the idea of putting social college experiences online ideas that the twins had given him.
After it was uploaded in the internet and had known by over a hundred schools/universities in the USA the twins decided to sue him to court for the reason of stealing the idea of “thefacebook” from them.
This case was then settled with money agreements and Mark Zuckerberg had returned ownership of the ”thefacebook”. After which, with the help of other people especially Sean Parker, who suggested to omit “the” in the name of his website and a co-founder of “Napster”, the website exploded and reach over a million members and connected in his site.
Now over 750 million people already has his/her own FACEBOOK account, including myself, and counting. FACEBOOK can now be considered as one of the most popular and most visited website in the world and Mark Zuckerberg? Besides that he is the coolest person in their university?
He holds the title of being one of the youngest billionaires on earth…
Transformers
This film is just the continuation of the 2 previous movies of “Transformers”. Obviously it’s all about robots. It’s all about the rivalry between the Decepticons and the Autobots in the human world. But in this movie, the humans detected an unidentified object in the moon which Prime had discovered that it’s their leader Sentinel Prime.
As the government and the Autobots are celebrating the comeback of Sentinel Prime, the Decepticons, spear-headed by Megatron, had already their plans to attack the humans and take revenge for their defeat.
At the later part, Sam Witwicky (played by Shia LaBeouf) warned the Autobots about the return of Megatron and the other Decepticons with their plan to eliminate humans on earth.
During the war, the good side was shocked of what Sentinel Prime had done. Instead of helping them to win, he betrayed the Autobots by killing Ironhide and by having a deal with Megatron, which is to eliminate humans on earth and reproduce their destroyed planet, Cybertron.
